ABOUT THE PRINCIPAL

The firm was established in 1992 and the principal, Jerri Holan, FAIA, has over 25 years of design experience in the San Francisco Bay area. Ms. Holan is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects. She has associated with a number of firms in the Bay Area, most notably Christopher Alexander’s Center for Environmental Design; Christopherson & Graff, Architects; Abrams/Millikan & Associates; Servais Design & Construction; Kirk Peterson & Associates, Architects; and Lerner + Associates, Architects.

Client involvement is an important component of Jerri’s architecture. This approach matches the client’s needs with an appropriate aesthetic language – sensitive attention to detail is a trademark of the firm’s work. Careful programming, thoughtful planning, and economic considerations are addressed early in design phases. The results are high-quality, affordable projects based on a user-oriented approach to the design process.

Jerri Holan has served on the Board for the Fulbright Alumni Association and the Berkeley Architectural Heritage Association and is currently the Chair of the American Institute of Architects’ Historical Resources Committee (SF Chapter). With a minor in environmental studies, Ms. Holan completed her Masters degree at UC, Berkeley. As a Fulbright Scholar, she conducted postgraduate work at the Arkitekturhøgskolen in Oslo, Norway, which culminated in her book, Norwegian Wood, A Tradition of Building. In 1989, she was inaugurated into the “Who’s Who in American Women” and “Who’s Who in Professional Women.” Her projects are frequently exhibited in “Small Firms, Great Projects,” sponsored by the American Institute of Architects.
