Cozy & Colorful Basement

A large unused crawl space was transformed into a bedroom and bathroom suite which serves a dual function as a family activity space. Cut into a steeply sloping hillside, the floor of the room steps up with the grade level making the room a multi-level experience.

A new deck was added to gain access to outdoor areas while large windows and french doors were incorporated to capture as much natural light as possible. The corner window features a cozy built-in window seat overlooking a grove of oak trees and the “art” door leading into the bedroom was designed for light as well as color. Custom bookshelves complete the ensemble while vibrant wall colors were selected for their warmth.
