♦ 2003 Preservation Award, Berkeley Architectural Heritage Association The shower room on the main floor of this ca. 1895 Colonial Revival home lies directly off the sunroom. It featured 1950's materials, fixtures, and finishes. As part of a larger renovation of their home, the Owners decided to remodel with fixtures and tile more in keeping with the traditional style of their landmark residence. Victorian green, 3" x 3" floor tiles in a diamond pattern dominate the room. A wainscot, highlighted with dark and light green trim tile, was installed with traditional 3" x 6" “subway” tile, extending all the way up to the 11' high ceiling at the shower. Traditional sink and toilet fixtures were installed along with a french door with obscure glass which allows light from the sunroom into this small room. |
