Design With a View

This small 1930's ranch-style cottage had a lovely hillside site overlooking the Bay but needed a modern kitchen. Interior walls were removed to combine the living, dining, and kitchen area into one large family-type room, much more suited to the owners’ informal lifestyle. Floor to ceiling windows were added to take advantage of views as do french doors which lead to the large new deck. The island was designed to serve both kitchen and dining areas while the remodeled master suite features a window seat with breathtaking views on three sides.  Hidden skylights were opened up to provide natural light for the newly exposed stairwell leading to the lower floor.  The lower floor was reconfigured into a music room, complete with piano and audio/video systems.  A contemporary bathroom was added as were lots of windows to capture all the views.
